For t oday only , let’s put aside our grievances with this country, take off our partisan hats, and celebrate the things we like about the USA.
These are the Grand Tetons, my favorite place of any I’ve been to in these here United States. They’re part of a National Park, a pretty sweet concept that we started before anyone else.
What do you like about the United States of America?

Natural wonders? We gots em!
Yosemite and the high Sierras.
The Grand Canyon and the San Francisco peaks of Northern AZ.
The coves and glens of the Great Smokies, which can contain more biodiversity in a single acre than the entire European continent.
The tidal lakes of NW FL, which are unique features in the western hemisphere. The best combination of fresh and salt water wetlands coming together. ( Going there this weekend... )
The natural wonders of the Mojave Desert and the giant saguaros as far as the eye can see.
The cliff dwellings of Mesa Verde and the entire Colorado Plateau and Mogollon Rim.
Zion is on my shortlist for next year.

The scenery. Being able to get away from clusters of people and finding beautiful spots you’ll never forget

My favorite place in this country would be the Outer Banks of North Carolina. Sunrises over the ocean are stunning and sunsets over the sounds are gorgeous. There’s a rich history of this countries beginnings and the turmoil the Civil War and World Wars brought to our Eastern shore. If I could live there I would in a heart beat, nor’easters be damned

I love that it’s become my home.
As much as I love my home country, the USA feels like home now.
Happy Fourth.
God bless America.

Looks gorgeous! That sound is to the west so you get both sunrises & sunsets over water?! That’s a good setup.
I’ll have to visit the coast next time I’m in the Carolinas.

Good list! I hadn’t heard about the tidal lakes, or the biodiversity of the Smokies.
I was backpacking in the Trinity Alps in Northern California and thought to myself “there sure are a lot more different kinds of conifer trees than I usually see”. After I get home I look it up and I was not far from the “magic mile”, a square mile with the greatest diversity of conifer trees on Earth.

Our ability to integrate immigrants is one of our greatest strengths. I always talk to my cab drivers, who are usually immigrants, and they always love America, generally more than anyone I know who was born here.

Yeah, I love that it’s possible to drive for a day, hike for a day, and be totally lone.

Good skiing, easy air travel, red jello, cool cars, nature.

I have a friend who goes to hike Lena lake but will hit the water first, drop crab traps, hike, then pick them up and have Dungeness that night with some beer.
